OAV Balipatna Head Cook & Assistant Cook Recruitment 2026 – 2 Posts (Girl's Hostel)

Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya (OAV), Bhakarsahi, Balipatna, Khordha district invites applications from deserving candidates for engagement of supporting staff in the Girl's Hostel of the Vidyalaya. The Vidyalaya is managed by the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS) under the Department of School and Mass Education, Government of Odisha.

Vacancy Details (Girl's Hostel)

Educational Qualification

Head Cook & Assistant Cook: No specific educational qualification prescribed. Candidates trained in cookery will be given preference with due weightage. The cook himself/herself should be perfectly hygienic in his/her dresses and cooking habits and must be well conversant to use LPG.

• Head Cook: Female (for Girl's Hostel). Has to stay in the hostel 24x7.
• Assistant Cook: Female (for Girl's Hostel). Has to stay in the hostel 24x7.

Age Limit

• Head Cook: 30 to 40 years as on the date of advertisement.
• Assistant Cook: 21 to 32 years as on the date of advertisement.

Remuneration (including EPF share of employee & Employer)

• Head Cook: Rs. 9,000/- per month.
• Assistant Cook: Rs. 6,750/- per month.

Selection Process

• Head Cook & Assistant Cook are selected through practical cooking test (100 marks).
• The sub-committee will decide the date, time and venue for interview / practical cooking test.
• The panel list of shortlisted candidates along with rejection list will be published in the District Website and Notice Board of the concerned OAVs & O/o DEO, Khordha.
• Shortlisted candidates will be intimated to appear for the interview / practical cooking test by the Principal through Registered Post & Notice Board.
• The committee staff shall conduct physical cooking of some items to evaluate the deliciousness / consumption of the preparation of the dishes and hygienic condition of cooking.

Process of Engagement

• Preference shall be given to local candidates; if not available, the block shall be taken as a unit, then nearby blocks. No candidates from outside the district shall be recruited.
• Duration of engagement is for a period of one year; fresh engagement shall be made with a gap of at least one working day based on satisfactory performance.
