Eligibility (Essential Qualifications)
Graduate from a recognized university; Diploma/Degree in Journalism/Mass Communication from a recognised institution/university; Proficiency in English and Urdu language; having a voice suited to broadcasting.
Desirable Qualification
- Diploma/Degree in Translation from a recognised institution
- Two years experience of journalistic work in Radio/TV/Print
- Knowledge of basic computer applications
Nature of Job
Translation of news stories and news-based text from English to Urdu and vice-versa and reading the News Bulletins.
Method of Selection
Two stages: (1) Written test (2) Voice test & interview. Each test carries 100 marks. Syllabus includes translation from English to Urdu and vice-versa, short notes on current affairs and general knowledge. Questions to be answered in Urdu language. Duration: three hours. Candidates securing 50 marks and above in written test will be called for voice test.
Terms & Conditions
- Casual assignment basis; no right for regularization of services.
- Booking offered from time to time on basis of organizational requirements; normally not exceeding six days in a month.
- Application processing fee (non-refundable): General ₹354/-, SC/ST/OBC ₹266/-.
- Payment by bank draft in favour of PB:DG (News), NSD, AIR, New Delhi or online to SBI, Parliament Street New Delhi (A/c No. 11084233458, IFSC SBIN0000691).
- Applications received without enclosures or after last date will be rejected.
- Written/voice tests/interview will be held in Delhi. No TA/DA admissible.
