Eligibility (Essential Qualifications)
Graduate from a recognized university; Diploma/Degree in Journalism/Mass Communication (PG diploma of at least one year); Proficiency in respective language (English for Newsreader/News Editor Business, Hindi for translator); having a voice suited to broadcasting; knowledge of basic computer applications; knowledge of financial markets, economy & business (for News Editor Business); knowledge of national and international current affairs.
Desirable
2+ years' experience of journalistic work in Radio/TV/Print.
Method of Selection
Two stages: (1) Written test (2) Voice test & interview. Each test carries 100 marks. Duration of written test: three hours. Candidates securing 50 marks and above in written test will be called for voice test. Selection Committee approval by Director General (News).
Terms & Conditions
- Casual assignment basis; no right for regularization of services.
- Booking offered from time to time on basis of organizational requirements; normally not exceeding six days in a month.
- Application processing fee (non-refundable): General ₹354/-, SC/ST/OBC ₹266/-.
- Payment by bank draft in favour of PB:DG (News), NSD, AIR, New Delhi or online to SBI, Parliament Street New Delhi (A/c No. 11084233458, IFSC SBIN0000691).
- Applications received without enclosures or after last date will be rejected.
- Written/voice tests/interview will be held in Delhi. No TA/DA admissible.
- Candidates may apply for more than one post (separate application and fee for each post).
