Eligibility (all must hold)
- Enrolled advocate with a State Bar Council.
- 2–5 years continuous practice as on the last date.
- Currently practising in Assam.
- Proven trial/lower-court litigation, legal-aid or rights-based/community work.
- Potential to independently manage legal-aid cases and contribute to systemic reform.
- Capacity and willingness to mentor junior lawyers.
- Full one-year commitment incl. in-person blocks and district placement.
- Preference: trial/lower-court practitioners, public-interest + community engagement.
Equity
- At least 40% women; at least 30% SC/ST/marginalised backgrounds; district balance.
Selection
- Dossier (case history, self-authored writing sample anonymised, SOP) → shortlisting on legal-aid commitment → two-stage interview (online + in-person) → final selection with waitlist.
