Essential Qualifications

The essential qualification for the Project Associate-I position is an M.Sc degree in Chemistry or a BS-MS degree in Chemistry from a recognised university.

Desirable Experience

While not strictly mandatory, the advertisement lists basic knowledge in Organic Chemistry and prior experience in organic synthesis and characterization as desirable.

Age Limit and Emoluments

The selected Project Associate-I will be paid: (i) Rs. 37,000 per month + HRA to Scholars who are selected through National Eligibility Tests, CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE, or through a selection process conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions; or (ii) Rs. 30,000 per month + HRA for others who do not fall under (i) above. The candidate will be eligible for HRA as per the Project/Institute norms.

Tenure and Working Conditions

The initial appointment is for 12 months, extendable until project completion subject to availability of funds and performance review. The selected candidate will be required to work full-time on the project, sign an agreement at the time of joining, and abide by the rules and regulations of NIT Silchar and the sponsoring agency. Candidates who are already employed must submit a No Objection Certificate from their employer at the time of the interview. The appointment is purely temporary and does not confer any right to a permanent position at NIT Silchar.
