NIT Durgapur Junior Research Fellow Recruitment 2026

The National Institute of Technology Durgapur invites applications from eligible Indian citizens for the position of Junior Research Fellow under an Anusandhan National Research Foundation-funded research project in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.

The position is purely temporary and will be governed by the availability of project funds and the candidate’s satisfactory performance.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should possess an M.E. or M.Tech. degree in any of the following or a closely related discipline:

• Computer Science and Engineering

• Computer Engineering

• Information Technology

• Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

• Artificial Intelligence and Data Science

• Electronics and Communication Engineering

• Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering

• Electrical Engineering

Candidates must have obtained at least:

• 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks for general-category applicants.

• 6.0 CGPA or 55% marks for SC/ST applicants.

The qualifying degree must be obtained from a recognised institute or university.

Fellowship

The selected candidate will receive:

• INR 37,000 per month plus HRA during the first and second years.

• INR 42,000 per month plus HRA during the third year.

The fellowship will be provided according to applicable DST or institute norms.
