NIAB, an autonomous institute under the aegis of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, invites applications from suitably qualified, dynamic, result oriented and dedicated Indian citizens for the post of Technical Officer.

The Institute's research focus is on animal genetics and genomics, transgenic technology, reproductive technology, diseases, nutritional enrichment, and bioinformatics, aiming at translational research leading to genetic enhancement of Indian Livestock species.

Vacancy Details

The position carries usual allowances as admissible to Central Government Employees of the same pay and status posted at Hyderabad, Telangana.

Educational Qualifications

Essential

• B.Sc. with 7 years of experience OR
• B.Tech / B.V.Sc. / M.Sc. with 3 years of experience

Desirable

• Experience of laboratory training focused on complex laboratory techniques, advanced instrumental analysis and advanced animal cell culture techniques.
• Experience in working in laminar hoods/bio-safety cabinets and performing molecular biology techniques (RT-PCR, Western blotting, gene silencing etc.).
• Proficient in handling inverted microscopes, CO2 incubators, cell counters etc.
• Knowledge of bio-analytical techniques, laboratory safety and quality assurance.
• Proficiency in statistical and computer productivity software (Word, Excel, etc.).

Job Description

Assisting Scientists in work related to laboratories, or any other job assigned by the competent authority. This position requires strong team working skills and the duties and responsibilities, primarily, will be performed according to laboratory guidelines and procedures.

General Conditions

• Appointment will be made initially on probation period of two years which may be extended.
• This is a Lien vacancy which is likely to be continued.
• Age limit shall be reckoned as on the closing date for receipt of application (14-08-2026).
• Age relaxation will be as per Government of India guidelines.
• Experience will be reckoned from the date of acquiring the prescribed qualification.
• Only shortlisted candidates will be called for written test and/or skill test.
• Candidates called for test will be paid single second class rail fare from place of undertaking journey or normal place of residence, whichever is nearer.
• For any legal dispute, courts of law at Hyderabad, Telangana will have jurisdiction.
