Department of Community Medicine, 4th Floor, Undergraduate Medical College, NEIGRIHMS, Shillong invites applications for a Walk-in Interview for the following contractual position under the project titled “National Survey on Extent and Pattern of Substance Use in India (NDUS-2025)” (for survey in the state of Meghalaya), commissioned by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MoSJE), Government of India and coordinated & implemented by National Drug Dependence Treatment Centre (NDDTC), AIIMS, New Delhi.

Nature of Work
- Assist regional investigators in implementing project activities in assigned region within Meghalaya
- Coordinate capacity-building activities within Meghalaya
- Conduct field visits for monitoring and revalidation of data collection for Household Sample Survey (HHS) and Respondent Driven Sampling (RDS) components
- Supervise and manage data collection
- Prepare, compile, and ensure timely submission of progress reports to NDDTC, AIIMS New Delhi
- Organize meetings related to project activities
- Support regional investigators in planning and conducting state-level training programmes for survey field teams in Meghalaya
- Assist the Project Research Scientist in any project-related work
- Any other project-related work assigned by the Regional Principal Investigator (NEIGRIHMS, Meghalaya)
Note: Selected candidate will be required to undertake extensive field travel including overnight stays in different locations within Meghalaya.
Selection Process
Though it is a walk-in-interview, the method of recruitment may be interview alone or a combination of written examination (where ten candidates would be shortlisted) followed by interview. The decision of the Recruitment Committee in all matters relating to acceptance or rejection of application, eligibility or suitability of applicants, mode and criteria for selection shall be final and binding.

- Appointment purely temporary and contractual under NDUS-2025. No claim for regular appointment at NEIGRIHMS.
- Initial 6 months; extendable based on project requirement, fund availability, satisfactory performance.
- NOC mandatory for Central/State Govt/PSU/Autonomous Body employees.
- Selection method: interview or written exam + interview.
- Age relaxation as per GoI/ICMR norms.
- Crucial date for eligibility: date of interview (9 September 2026).
