NEC Shillong Research Officer (Industries) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Deputation Post, Level 10 | Apply within 60 Days

North Eastern Council Secretariat, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, Government of India, Nongrim Hills, Shillong – 793003, is looking for the services of a suitable officer for filling up 01 (one) post of Research Officer (Industries) – (i) by deputation (including short-term contract); or (ii) by deputation or re-employment (for Armed Forces Personnel) basis, as per the provisions of the Recruitment Rules. Pay scale

Level-10 in the pay matrix (Rs.56,100–1,77,500).

Method of recruitment and eligibility criteria

By deputation (including short-term contract): Officers of the Central Government or State Governments or Union Territory Administrations or autonomous body or statutory organisation or public sector undertakings or recognised university or recognised research institute –

• (i) holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre or department; or
• (ii) with two years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment to the post on a regular basis in Level-9 in the pay matrix (Rs.53,100–1,67,800) or equivalent in the parent cadre or department; or
• (iii) with four years’ service in the grade rendered after appointment to the post on a regular basis in Level-8 in the pay matrix (Rs.47,600–1,51,100) or equivalent in the parent cadre or department; and
• (b) possessing the following educational qualifications and experience, namely – (i) Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or recognised institute; and (ii) five years’ experience in promotion and development of industries.

Note 1 – the period of deputation (including short-term contract), including the period of deputation (including short-term contract) in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organisation or department of the Central Government, shall ordinarily not exceed three years.

Note 2 – the maximum age limit for appointment by deputation (including short-term contract) shall be not exceeding fifty-six years as on the last date of receipt of application.

Deputation or re-employment for Armed Forces personnel

Armed Forces personnel of the rank of Lieutenant or equivalent who are due to retire or to be transferred to reserve within a period of one year and possessing the educational qualifications and experience prescribed for deputationists shall also be considered for deputation. If selected, such officers will be given deputation terms up to the date on which they are due for release from the armed forces and thereafter they may be continued on re-employment terms. In case such eligible officers have retired or have been transferred to reserve before the actual selection to the post is made, their appointment will be on re-employment terms (re-employment up to the age of superannuation with reference to civil post).

Job requirement

To deal with matters relating to promotion and development of industries in the North Eastern Region and to assist the Director (Tourism and Industries) in matters relating to Industries and allied matters.

2. Attested copies of ACRs for the last 5 (five) years, duly attested on each page with seal by an officer not below the rank of Under Secretary to the Government of India or equivalent.
3. Integrity Certificate.
4. Vigilance Clearance.
5. Major or minor penalty certificate for the last 10 years of service.
6. Cadre clearance certificate.
7. A certificate to the effect that the particulars furnished by the candidate have been verified and found correct as per service records.
8. Self-attested copy of certificates of educational qualifications.

The pay and other terms and conditions of deputation will be regulated in accordance with DoPT’s OM No. 6/8/2009-Estt.(Pay-II) dated 17.06.2010, as amended from time to time. No application fee is prescribed.
