The Department of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Government of India has invited applications (F. No. A-35021/01/2024-NTH) for filling up 02 (Two) posts of Scientist-B (Chemical) in the National Test House (NTH), a subordinate organization of the Department, in Level-10 (Rs. 56,100-1,77,500/-) of the pay matrix, General Central Service, Group-A (Gazetted) Non-Ministerial, on deputation (including short-term contract) basis. Eligibility & Mode of Deputation

The post is to be filled by deputation (including short term contract) from officers under the Central Government, State Government, Union Territories administrations, Public Sector Undertakings, Universities, Recognized Research Institutions, semi-Government or Autonomous bodies or Statutory Organizations who:

• Hold an analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department; OR
• Have two years' service in the grade rendered after regular appointment in posts in Level-8 (Rs. 47,600-1,51,100) of the Pay Matrix or equivalent in the parent cadre or department; AND
• Possess the essential educational qualifications and experience mentioned above.

Age Limit: The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation (including short term contract) shall not exceed 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of the applications. The period of deputation (including short term contract) shall ordinarily not exceed three years.

Selection Procedure

Candidates will be screened on the basis of their qualification and experience as per the vacancy circular. Applications received, complete in all respects and forwarded through proper channel, will be scrutinised by the Department. The departmental officers in the feeder category who are in the direct line of promotion will not be eligible for consideration for appointment on deputation. Selected candidates will not be allowed to withdraw their candidature subsequently on any ground. The crucial date for determining eligibility is the closing date of receipt of applications.
