Overview

Mysuru Mahanagara Palike, also known as the Mysore City Corporation (MCC), has released a notification for the recruitment of 116 UGD Helper (Under Ground Drainage Helper) posts. The notification was issued vide No. C.E.S.T(5):C.R:03:2026-27 dated 08-09-2026. This is a special, one-time recruitment restricted to candidates already working in the Corporation on daily-wage, contract, outsourcing or equal-pay-for-equal-work terms for at least two years – it is not an open recruitment. Applications can be submitted from 10 September 2026 to 9 October 2026 (5:30 PM) at the MCC Central Office, Sayyaji Rao Road, Mysuru-570004.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidate must be conversant in Kannada.
• Candidate must currently be working in Mysuru Mahanagara Palike on a daily-wage/welfare/equal-pay-for-equal-work/contract/outsourcing basis, performing the same or equivalent UGD Helper-type duties, and must have completed a minimum of 2 years of continuous service in that capacity.
• Candidates engaged through STP (Sewage Treatment Plant) or Wet Well contract arrangements are excluded from this recruitment.
• Candidates must be able to produce ESI and PF documents (paid by the Corporation on their behalf), duly certified by the concerned officials.
• This is a restricted/internal-eligibility recruitment – candidates not already engaged with MCC in the manner described above are not eligible to apply.

Selected UGD Helpers will be placed in the pay scale of Rs. 27,000 – Rs. 46,675, as fixed for the post under the Corporation's cadre and pay rules.

Selection Process

• Selection is made purely on merit, based on the length of continuous service rendered in the qualifying category of employment with MCC – there is no written exam or interview.
• Where two or more candidates have equal service length, the older candidate (by date of birth) is given preference.
• If both service length and date of birth are identical, selection between such candidates is decided by lottery.
• A provisional selection list is published per Rule 4 read with Rule 5, followed by objections/representations and a final list approved by the Selection & Direct Recruitment Authority-cum-Commissioner, MCC.

• Duly filled prescribed application form
• Recent passport-size photograph affixed on the form, with signature/left-thumb impression
• Proof of date of birth
• Proof of current engagement and service length with MCC (in the qualifying employment category) certified by the competent branch head
• ESI and PF documents certified by the concerned MCC officials
• Caste and income/creamy-layer certificates, where reservation is claimed
• Rural candidate certificate, where applicable
• Disability certificate from the district medical board, where applicable
• Ex-servicemen discharge/service certificate, where applicable
• Project-displaced family certificate, where applicable
• Third-gender certificate from the competent authority, where applicable

How to Apply (Offline)

1. Collect the prescribed application form from the MCC Central Office, Sayyaji Rao Road, Mysuru-570004 (forms are issued free of cost).
2. Fill in all columns of the application completely and accurately.
3. Affix a recent passport-size photograph and sign or affix a left-thumb impression on the form.
4. Attach self-attested copies of all supporting certificates listed under Documents Required.
5. Submit the completed application directly at the MCC Central Office on or before 9 October 2026, 5:30 PM. Applications sent by post or dropped off through any other channel will not be accepted.

Important Instructions

• This recruitment is governed by the Karnataka Municipal Corporations (Recruitment of Officers and Employees) Rules, 2011, and the special 2026 UGD Helper recruitment rules issued for corporations other than the Greater Bengaluru Authority.
• Only candidates already engaged with MCC in the specified categories of employment, for a minimum of 2 years, are eligible – this is not a fresh open recruitment.
• Applications not on the prescribed format, or incomplete applications, are liable to be rejected.
• Furnishing false information, fake certificates or suppressing material facts will lead to rejection/cancellation of candidature at any stage, besides other action as per rules.
