Overview
Under the Gyan Bharatam initiative of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, the Cluster Centre, Oriental Institute, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda invites applications from eligible and experienced candidates for 05 contractual positions for survey, conservation, digitization and linguistic work of manuscripts (Notification dated 07/09/2026).

Eligibility
1. Survey & Cataloguing Expert: Master degree in Sanskrit / Pali / Prakrit / Linguistics / Manuscriptology, OR Master degree in History / Archaeology / Library & Information Science with Diploma / PG Diploma in Manuscriptology and Conservation, AND minimum 5 years experience in manuscript survey, cataloguing, manuscript preservation and transcription. Knowledge of regional scripts & languages preferred.
2. Conservation Expert: Master Degree in Science (with Chemistry at Graduation level) OR Master Degree in Fine Arts / Visual Arts, OR Master Degree in Art Conservation / History / Archaeology / Museology or equivalent, AND minimum 5 years experience in manuscript preservation & conservation with ability to lead a team and computer skills. Formal training in Conservation of Manuscripts and Art objects from a reputed national-level institution such as NRLC (training of not less than 06 months).
3. Assistant Conservator: Bachelor Degree in Science (with Chemistry at Graduation level) OR Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts / Visual Arts, OR Bachelor Degree in Art Conservation / History / Archaeology / Museology or equivalent subject.
4. Script & Language Expert: Master Degree in Sanskrit / Pali / Prakrit / History / Urdu / Persian or in any one of the languages in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution, with expertise in any one language and script (Brahmi, Sarda, Grantha, Bengali, Odiya, Telugu, Tamil etc.), AND at least 5 years experience in script reading, decoding and translation, editing, with capability for editorial and documentation support.
Terms
- Appointment purely contractual for 06 months (extendable on project requirements); no right to permanent employment
- Walk-in interview date & time will be communicated separately on email / mobile
- Terms of service & payment as per Guidelines, SOP and MoU with Gyan Bharatam, Ministry of Culture, New Delhi
