Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change invites nominations of eligible and willing Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers for appointment to the post of Director General of Forests & Special Secretary (DGF&SS) [Level 17 of 7th CPC, Pre-revised Apex Scale Rs. 80,000/- fixed] on tenure deputation basis under the Central Staffing Scheme, Vacancy Year 2026 (Circular dated 01.08.2026).

Eligibility (IFS Officers)
- Minimum 30 years of service with reference to Year of Allotment in IFS (as on 01.01.2026)
- At least one officer of the same batch should have completed two years of service in HAG+ pay band (Rs. 75,500-80,000) as on 01.01.2026
- Minimum one year of service left before superannuation (as on 01.01.2026)
- No cooling off period attracts for applying to this post
