The Mizoram University (A Central University), Department of Horticulture, Aromatic & Medicinal Plants, Aizawl invites applications for the post of 1 Senior Project Associate on the DBT (Department of Biotechnology, New Delhi) sponsored research project ‘Development of standardized process for the production of safe and hygienic Mizo fermented mustard (Tam-um)’.

Master’s degree (minimum 55% marks or equivalent CGPA) in relevant branch of Biological Sciences along with 04 years (Post PG) R & D experience OR PhD in relevant branch of Biological Sciences.
Candidates with published work/experience in the project area shall be given preference.
Culture, isolation and characterization (microbial, biochemical and gene based) of microbes involved in production of fermented products. It is obligatory on the part of the staff to write research papers on the outcome of the project.
If a suitable candidate as per the above qualifications is not available, the position may be filled with Project Associate-II/Project Associate-I as per DST OM No. SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated 10th July 2020. Hence, M.Sc. qualified candidates with/without experience are also encouraged to apply. The decision of the PI shall be final in this regard.

The position is purely temporary, on annual extension basis, co-terminus with the project duration i.e. up to 01.12.2028 or as decided by DBT. Selected candidates shall not be considered as employees of Mizoram University or DBT.
