Age Limit
- Group C Posts: 18-36 years (relaxable as per rules)
- Track Maintainer (Erstwhile Group D): 18-45 years (relaxable as per rules)
- Age Relaxation: SC/ST – 5 years; OBC – 3 years; PwBD – up to 10 years; Ex-Servicemen – 3 years
Educational Qualification
- As per respective post requirements specified in detailed notification
- Graduate/Diploma in relevant engineering discipline for technical posts
- Minimum educational qualification varies by post

Eligibility - Panels
- Land Loser Candidates: First preference - candidates whose land acquired for KR construction
- Employment Exchange Registered: Second preference - registered with Employment Exchanges along KR route
- Domicile Candidates: Third preference - domicile of Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka
- KRCL Employees: Regular employees with 3+ years service
