Overview

Ladakh Police Subordinate Service Recruitment Board (LPSSRB), Administration of Union Territory of Ladakh has released Advertisement Notification No. 02 of 2026, dated 24.08.2026 for direct recruitment to the post of Constable (Level-02), General Cadre (Executive, Armed/IRP, SDRF, Women and Border Battalions) in Ladakh Police under the Ladakh Police (Subordinate) Service Recruitment (Revised) Rules, 2026, against 331 vacancies. Online applications are open from 29.08.2026 to 15.09.2026 at the official Ladakh Police recruitment portal. As per the LPSSRB notice dated 11.09.2026, no further extension will be granted beyond 15.09.2026.

The 331 Constable vacancies are distributed across three cadre/unit groups. Candidates applying for Border Battalion and Women Battalion vacancies are eligible only against the vacancy pertaining to their own domicile district.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed 10th Class/Matriculation from a recognised Board of School Education. Serving Special Police Officers (SPOs) of Ladakh Police with at least three years of continuous engagement on the last date of application are eligible with an 8th Pass qualification, subject to fulfilment of all prescribed conditions. The qualification must have been acquired on or before the last date of submission of the online application.

Age Limit

The age limit is 18 to 28 years as on 01.01.2026, subject to permissible relaxations.

Domicile Requirement

Candidates must possess a valid Domicile Certificate of the Union Territory of Ladakh. For preference and allocation to the Border Battalion, a valid Domicile Certificate establishing domicile in an eligible border village is required. Candidates applying for Women Battalion or Border Battalion vacancies are eligible only against the vacancy of their own domicile district.

Application Fee

The fee is payable online only, through Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card or UPI, on the Recruitment Application Software (RAS) while submitting the application. Applications submitted without the prescribed fee are summarily rejected and the fee, once paid, is not refunded.

Selection Process

Physical Standard Test (PST)

Male: Height 162 cm minimum; Chest 81 cm (unexpanded) and 85 cm (expanded) minimum.
Female: Height 152 cm minimum.

Physical Endurance Test (PET)

Male: Long Race - 1600 metres in 7 minutes 30 seconds; Long Jump - 12 feet (three attempts); Push-ups - 20.
Female: Long Race - 1200 metres in 7 minutes 30 seconds; Long Jump - 9 feet (three attempts); Shot Put - 4 kg, 14.5 feet (three attempts).

PST/PET is scheduled to commence from 22.09.2026 onwards, venue-wise at Leh and Kargil.

Written Examination

The written examination is Objective/MCQ type with 100 questions for 100 marks (one mark each), of 80 minutes duration, bilingual in English and Hindi, with no negative marking, at approximately Matriculation level.

Reservation Details

Vertical: Unreserved - 5%, SC - 1%, ST - 80%, ALC (Residents of areas adjoining Actual Line of Control) - 4%, EWS - 10%.
Horizontal: Serving SPOs - 15%, VHGs - 4%, Outstanding Sportspersons - 4%, Ex-Agniveers - 20%, Ex-Servicemen - 6%.

Incentive Marks

Candidates holding a valid Light Motor Vehicle Driving Licence with transport endorsement, or a one-year AICTE-recognised Computer Application Certificate, may claim incentive marks for only one of the two, up to 5% of the maximum marks of the written examination. NCC certificate holders are eligible for incentive marks as follows: NCC "C" - 5%, NCC "B" - 3%, NCC "A" - 2% of maximum marks.

How to Apply

Eligible candidates are required to submit their applications online through the official Ladakh Police recruitment portal as per the following process:

1. Visit the official Ladakh Police website, police.ladakh.gov.in.
2. Register and fill in the online application form with correct personal, educational, domicile and category particulars.
3. Upload a scanned colour passport-size photograph in JPG format (up to 500 KB) with white background, not older than three months.
4. Pay the applicable application fee online via Net Banking, Credit/Debit Card or UPI.
5. Exercise the order of preference for cadre/unit group, subject to eligibility.
6. Review all details carefully and submit the application before the last date.
7. Take a printout of the submitted application form for future reference.

Candidates can edit their particulars after initial submission until the last date by logging in with their registered mobile number; however, the Date of Birth and Category fields cannot be edited after submission.
