- Applicant must satisfy the qualifications prescribed under section 74(1)(c) of the Mental Healthcare Act, 2017 for the position applied for
- Psychiatrist member: recognised post-graduate qualification in Psychiatry (MD/DNB or equivalent) and valid registration with a medical council
- Medical practitioner member: MBBS or equivalent and valid registration with a medical council
- Disqualifications under section 74(2) of the Act and Rule 19 of the Mental Healthcare (Central Mental Health Authority and Mental Health Review Boards) Rules, 2018 apply
- A person holding any full-time or part-time assignment that prevents adequate time and attention to Board work, or holding any office in a political party, is disqualified
- Age must not exceed 70 years during the tenure
- Applications must include self-attested copies of certificates proving age, educational qualifications and experience, and a curriculum vitae
