- Age between 21 and 35 years as on 1 January 2026; relaxations as per State Government instructions, subject to an upper limit of 45 years.
- Applicant must be a domicile holder of Chhattisgarh; the domicile certificate issued by a competent authority is the only proof accepted.
- A candidate who married before the minimum legal age of marriage, or who has more than one spouse or is married to a person with a living spouse, is not eligible.
- Employees of government or semi-government institutions must attach a no-objection certificate from the employer, failing which the application will not be considered.
- Only full-time experience certified by the employer is counted; voluntary service certificates are not accepted as experience.

Selection
Candidates are shortlisted on a 100-mark merit scheme: 70 marks for percentage obtained in the minimum essential qualification, 2 marks for every year of experience beyond the minimum requirement (maximum 10 marks), and 20 marks for a written and skill test. Shortlisted candidates are called for the written and skill test in a 1:10 ratio. Where marks are equal, the older candidate is placed higher, and if age is also equal, the candidate with higher marks in the minimum qualification is preferred. The District Collector, as Chairperson of the District Child Welfare and Protection Committee, is the appointing authority.
