Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University (KBCNMU), Jalgaon has invited applications from distinguished practising professionals for the post of Professor of Practice on a fixed-term basis (Ref. No. KBCNMU/3/POP-6/2026/1/2026, dated 19.10.2026). The last date for submitting the application by email is 30 October 2026.

Schools and departments

School of Chemical Science; School of Life Sciences; University Institute of Chemical Technology; School of Computer Sciences; Language Studies and Research Centre; School of Social Sciences; and School of Media Studies. The University reserves the right to shortlist and limit the number of positions according to the requirement of the respective School or Department, so the number of posts is not fixed in this advertisement.

Eligibility

• Distinguished experts who have made remarkable contributions in their profession in fields such as engineering, science, technology, entrepreneurship, commerce, social sciences, media, literature, fine arts, civil services, armed forces, legal profession, community development, panchayati raj, rural development, watershed development, water harvesting, organic farming, small green energy systems, municipal planning, community participation, gender budgeting and planning, inclusive development of tribals and public administration, among others.
• Proven expertise in the specific profession or role with at least 15 years of service or experience, preferably at a senior level.
• A formal academic qualification is not essential where the candidate has exemplary professional practice; such experts are also exempted from the requirement of publications and the other eligibility criteria stipulated for recruitment of Professors.
• The post is not open to those in the teaching profession, whether serving or retired.

Duties and responsibilities

• Contribution to the development and design of courses and curriculum, introduction of new courses and delivery of lectures as per institutional policies.
• Encouraging students in innovation and entrepreneurship projects and providing necessary mentorship for these activities.
• Focus on enhanced industry-academia collaborations; conducting workshops, seminars, special lectures and training programmes together with regular faculty; carrying out joint research projects or consultancy services; and any other duty assigned by the University.

Remuneration and benefits

• Honorarium: Rs. 2,000/- per contact hour, up to a maximum of Rs. 10,000/- per day, subject to a maximum ceiling of Rs. 90,000/- per semester.
• Travel: entitlement to travel by train in AC II tier, AC Chair car or I Class and claim the actual fares on furnishing the ticket; where travel is by lower class or by bus between places connected by train, actual fares are paid; travel in one's own car or hired conveyance is permitted and paid as per the rules of the University.
• Accommodation: guest house accommodation and local hospitality provided by the University.

Tenure of appointment

Initially one year, with the University making an assessment at the end of the initial engagement or subsequent extension and taking a decision on extension. The maximum duration of service should not exceed three years and is extendable by one year in exceptional cases, and the total service should not exceed four years under any circumstances.
