JNCASR ARF Instrument Scientist (Photoluminescence) Recruitment 2026

JNCASR invites applications for the temporary position of ARF Instrument Scientist to operate the Photoluminescence (PL) instrument at the International Centre for Materials Science (ICMS) (Advt. No. JNC/AO/Advt.No.17/2026 dated 17.08.2026).

Qualifications

  • Educational Qualification: PhD in the area of Chemistry/Physics.
  • Desirable: Experience handling instruments at a central facility; previous experience handling high-end Photoluminescence (PL) instrument (steady state, time resolved, cryo) preferred.

Job Description

Operate and maintain Edinburgh FLS 1000 Photoluminescence spectroscopy system; perform steady-state, time-resolved PL measurements (emission, excitation, lifetime, quantum yield, temperature-dependent/cryostat); troubleshoot the instrument and provide technical support to users.
