- Only serving Railway employees are eligible; this is an ex-cadre post and applications must come through the proper channel.
- Officers working in Pay Band 1 (Rs. 9,300-34,800) with Grade Pay Rs. 4,200, or those with Grade Pay Rs. 2,800 and two years of service.
- Graduate in any discipline or Diploma in Engineering.
- Working knowledge of computers, including MS Office and Excel.
- Age below 50 years as on the date of the notification (19.10.2026).

About the post
IRICEN, Pune invites applications from serving Railway employees for one ex-cadre post of Technical Assistant. The selected officer will assist the faculty in conducting training courses and in technical work of the Institute.
Tenure
The posting is initially for three years and may be extended or curtailed as per administrative requirements.
