Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), a leading Public Sector Bank under Ministry of Finance, Government of India, invites online applications for recruitment against 250 Vacancies for Local Bank Officers (LBO) in Junior Management Grade-Scale I (JMGS-I).

Eligibility Criteria

1. Nationality

• Citizen of India OR Subject of Nepal/Bhutan OR Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st Jan 1962 OR Person of Indian origin who migrated from specified countries.

2. Age Limit

• Minimum: 20 years
• Maximum: 30 years as on 01.08.2026
• Relaxation: SC/ST – 5 years; OBC – 3 years; PwBD – 10 years; 1984 riot victims – 5 years; Ex-servicemen – 5 years

3. Educational Qualification

• Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a University recognized by Govt. of India or equivalent qualification.
• Candidate must possess valid Mark-sheet/Degree Certificate证明 graduation on the day of registration.

4. Language Proficiency

• Candidates must be proficient (reading, writing and speaking) in the desired local language of the applied state.
• Candidates who have not studied the local language in 10th or 12th standard will appear for Local Language Proficiency Test (LPT) prior to Personal Interview.

Pay & Emoluments

DA, HRA, CCA etc. as per rules in force. Candidates selected will be on probation for 2 years (active service). Financial Service Indemnity Bond of Rs. 2,00,000/- for minimum 3 years service.

Selection Process

1. Online Examination: 140 questions, 200 marks, 3 hours duration
2. Language Proficiency Test (LPT): For candidates who haven't studied local language in 10th/12th
3. Personal Interview: 100 marks

Exam Pattern

• Negative marking: 1/4 marks deducted for each wrong answer
• Minimum qualifying: 30% for reserved, 35% for unreserved in online exam
• Interview minimum: 45% for reserved, 50% for unreserved
• Final weightage: Online Exam 80% + Interview 20%

Important Instructions

• Candidate must apply for ONE STATE ONLY. Cannot apply for multiple states.
• Selected candidates will be posted in the applied state only for first 12 years of service.
• No change of category/state permitted after registration.
• One advance increment for each prior completed year of service as Officer in Scheduled Commercial Banks (max 2 increments).
