Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), a leading Public Sector Bank with headquarters at Chennai, invites online applications from qualified and experienced professionals for recruitment against 291 Vacancies for Generalist / Specialist Officers in JMG Scale I, MMG Scale II and MMG Scale III (Advt. No. HRDD/RECT/04/2026-27, dated 28.08.2026).

Reservation: SC 46, ST 21, OBC 79, EWS 28, UR (Gen) 117. PWBD reservation on horizontal basis. Post Code 01 is the Generalist Officer post; all other posts are Specialist Officer posts.

Important Dates

Age (as on 01.08.2026)

Age varies by post. Minimum age 22–30 years and maximum age 32–45 years depending on the post. Relaxation in upper age as per Govt. guidelines: SC/ST 5 yrs, OBC (NCL) 3 yrs, PWBD 10 yrs, Ex-Servicemen 5 yrs, 1984 riot affected 5 yrs. Cumulative relaxation for SC/ST/OBC subject to maximum upper age of 50 years.

Essential Qualification (Post-wise summary)

01. Generalist Officer (Branch Management) MMG-II: Any Degree; 3 years as Officer in Scheduled Public/Private Sector Bank (at least 2 years in Branch Banking); Scale I Branch Head experience preferred.

02/05. Manager/Sr. Manager (IT): B.E./B.Tech (CS/IT/ECE/E&I) or MCA or M.Sc. (CS/IT); IT experience 5 years (II) / 8 years (III) with at least 3/5 years in Banking/BFSI; hands-on in any one specialised domain (Full Stack, OS, Network, Cloud, Storage, DB, IAM, Automation, ITSM, BCP/DR, Virtualisation, DevOps, DevSecOps, Middleware, IT Procurement).

03/06. Manager/Sr. Manager (Information Security): B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech (CS/IT/ECE/Cyber/IS); 2 years (II) / 5 years (III) post-qualification experience in any three domains (Web/Mobile/API security testing, SAST/DAST, AI/LLM security, Red Team).

04/07. Manager/Sr. Manager (IS Audit): B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech (CS/IT/ECE/Cyber) or MCA; 2 years (II) / 5 years (III) experience in IS/IS Audit/Cyber Security Audit in Banking/BFSI or IT with Secure by Design development; mandatory CISA/CISSP/ISO 27001:LA/OSCP.

08. Sr. Manager (Database Administrator): B.E./B.Tech (CS/IT/ECE/E&I) or MCA or M.Sc. (CS/IT); 8 years in Database Administration (5 in production, 3 in Banking/BFSI); Oracle/SQL Server, performance tuning, backup/recovery, DR; mandatory OCA/OCP.

09. Sr. Manager (Network Administrator): B.E./B.Tech or M.Tech or MCA; 5 years in Network Operations including Cisco FTD & Check Point firewalls, ACI & Nexus; mandatory CCNA Security/CCSE.

10. Sr. Manager (Cyber Security Administrator): B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech (CS/IT/ECE/Cyber/IS); 5 years in any two domains (Forensic/IR, SIEM/XDR, Web/API Security, IAM/AD/PAM, AI Security, Network Security).

11/12. Manager/Sr. Manager (Credit): Graduate with MBA (Finance)/PGDBA/PGDBM/MMS (Finance) or CA or CMA; 3 years (II) / 6 years (III) in Bank/Financial Institution with minimum 2/4 years in credit; MSME/Corporate advances preferred.

13. Sr. Manager (Risk): Graduate with MBA (Finance)/PGDM (Finance)/PGDBF/MFM/MFC/Maths/Statistics/Economics, or FRM (GARP)/PRM certification; 5 years in Risk/Credit/Forex/Treasury/Finance in PSB/Private Bank/NBFC/FI.

14. Assistant Manager (Security) JMG-I: Graduate (any discipline) with mandatory 3-month Computer course (or Computer Science/IT as graduation subject); Retired JCO (min 5 yrs) or Inspector-equivalent (min 5 yrs) in Paramilitary or Police serving/retired (discharge on or before 30.09.2026). Preferred: Firefighting/Fire Safety certification. SHAPE-1 medical category required.

Selection Process

Online Examination followed by Personal Interview. Online Exam: 100 objective questions / 2 hours with separate timings per section (English Language 25 Qs, General Awareness with special reference to Banking 25 Qs, Professional Knowledge 50 Qs for specialist posts; English + Professional Knowledge 100 Qs for Generalist). Minimum qualifying marks in Online Exam: 35% UR / 30% reserved. 1/4th negative marking for wrong answers. Minimum qualifying marks in Interview: 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWBD). Final merit: 80% Online Exam + 20% Interview.

Probation & Bond

Probation: 6 months (Generalist MMG-II), 2 years (Security JMG-I), 1 year (all other posts). Bond: Rs. 2,00,000/- (JMG-I) and Rs. 2,50,000/- (MMG II & III), to serve for minimum 3 years (active service).
