Quick Overview

Essential Qualifications

• (a) DGS recognized MEO Class I Certificate of Competency OR Master (FG) Certificate of Competency;
• (b) Sailing experience for a minimum period of THREE years on merchant ships, of which at least ONE year should be at the Management Level in the rank of Chief Officer or 2nd Engineer;
• (c) Sailing experience for a minimum period of THREE months on Gas Tankers at the Management level within the meaning of STCW Convention, as amended;
• (d) Certificate of completion of Advanced Training Program in Gas Tanker Cargo Operation from a DGS-approved institute.

Desirable Qualification

Certificate of completion of Assessment, Examination and Certification of Seafarers (AECS) Course (IMO Model Course 3.12) from a DGS-approved institute.

Emoluments

Consolidated remuneration of Rs. 70,000/- to Rs. 1,20,000/- per month, commensurate with qualification and experience, as decided by the Selection Committee.

Duration of Contractual Engagement

Initially for a period of SIX months, and may be further extended for additional period(s) of SIX months subject to performance and requirements of IMU.

Selection Process

The selection process shall comprise a personal interview / demo lecture or both before the Selection Committee. In case of a large number of applicants, a screening test shall be conducted to shortlist applicants for the personal interview. Shortlisted applicants will be intimated by e-mail regarding the date and time of the screening test/interview. No TA/DA is admissible.
