IIT Roorkee Research Associate-I Recruitment 2026 – DBT Project (BSBE)

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee – 247667 (Uttarakhand) invites applications from Indian nationals for a project position of Research Associate-I under Principal Investigator Prof. Gopinath Packirisamy, Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering (BSBE).

Project Details

• Title of project: Development of cost-effective and point-of-care biosensor for detection of Alzheimer's disease.
• Sponsor: DBT (Department of Biotechnology), Govt. of India.
• Position: Research Associate-I (01 number).
• Emoluments: Rs. 58,000/- per month + 10% HRA.
• Duration: 15 months or project completion date (01 December 2027), whichever is earlier.

Qualification

• PhD in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering or equivalent.
• Desirable: Minimum 2 first-author research publications in SCI-indexed journals in the field of Biosensor/Biomedical Engineering and minimum 1 patent granted or applied (mention application number).
• Job description: Expertise in development of biosensor device, nanotechnology and material science.

Walk-in Interview

• Date: 19 August 2026, Venue: BSBE Department, IIT Roorkee (report for registration as per schedule).
• Interview will be conducted in offline mode only; requests for change of date/time or online interview will not be entertained.
• Candidates should bring a printed copy of their CV (no need to email in advance) along with self-attested copies of degree and experience certificates; originals required at the time of joining for verification.
• No TA/DA shall be provided; candidates will bear their own travel and accommodation expenses. Preference will be given to SC/ST candidates on equal qualifications and experience.
