Eligibility
Ph.D. in Metallurgical/Materials Engineering or a closely related field with at least 2 SCI journal publications. The candidate must have qualified for the GATE exam in the past.
Job description: The RA will be involved in welding setup, welding trials of titanium and stainless-steel sheets and associated activities on new brazing alloy development, weld metal characterization and corrosion testing. Hands-on experience expected in: arc welding processes; new-alloy development (CALPHAD approach); Thermo-Calc; microstructural characterization (OM, SEM, XRD, EBSD), mechanical testing; and corrosion testing (preferably). Periodic field trials at IOCL's Panipat refinery will also be a part.
