IIT Madras IC&SR – Project Consultant posts, Dept. of Humanities and Social Sciences
The Office of Industrial Consultancy and Sponsored Research (IC&SR), Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai – 600 036, invites applications for temporary Project Consultant posts in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. These are four separate advertisements — Advt. 221/2026, 222/2026, 223/2026 and 224/2026, all dated 26/10/2026 — issued for the project “Social Media and Gen AI Safety in India: Youth and Parent Perspectives from Four States”, funded by MeitY, New Delhi.
Co-ordinator: Prof. Mathangi Krishnamurthy, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Madras. Duration: initially one year, later extendable based on performance. Number of vacancies: 01 in each advertisement.

How to Apply

- The last date for submission of online application is 04.11.2026 for all four advertisements.
- A separate application has to be filled for each post. The system accepts a single application per registered login ID for an advertisement, so candidates applying for more than one position should select multiple positions before submission.
General Instructions
- All positions are on a purely contract basis; completion of the contract period confers no right for further extension, regularisation or permanency at the Institute.
- The application cannot be edited or reverted once submitted. Applying twice for the same post is liable to rejection.
- A printout of the application form must be produced when called for the test/document verification/interview. A hard copy is not to be sent to the Institute.
- Applicants working in any project at IIT Madras must apply through proper channel or produce a No Objection Certificate at the time of document verification; candidates without NOC will not be permitted to appear.
- The crucial date for determining eligibility is the closing date for submission of the online application.
