Qualifications and Relevant Experience:

Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science OR Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in Professional Engineering or Technology Course selected via a process described through any one of the following; a. Scholars who are selected through CSIR-UGC NET for JRF eligibility or GATE. b. The selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER, NISER etc.


Desirable Criteria:

Minimum 60% marks in the qualifying examination or equivalent CGPA as mentioned by the respective institute to which the applicant is affiliated. For B.Tech./B.E. in Chemical Engineering/Chemical Technology/Materials Science and Engineering, GATE qualification is mandatory. M.Sc. students are also eligible with GATE or CSIR-UGC NET for JRF qualification, but they preferably should have B.Sc. in Physics/Chemistry. For M.E./M.Tech. degree holders, GATE is not mandatory. Candidates looking for MS/Ph.D. position through project mode are preferred. As the selected candidate will have the opportunity to pursue MS/Ph.D at IIT Kharagpur.
