Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, Department of Computer Science and Engineering invites applications for the position of Senior Project Executive Officer to oversee the daily operations, maintenance and upgradation of a CPU-GPU high-performance cluster. Position Details

Minimum Qualification and Experience (any one)

• M.Tech or M.Sc in Engineering/Sciences + 5 years of relevant experience OR
• Ph.D. in Engineering/Sciences

Desirable Qualification and Experience

• Thorough knowledge of High-Performance Computing (HPC) fundamentals, Linux fundamentals, MPI and OpenMP programming, C/C++/Fortran/Python programming, compilation and debugging, job schedulers, installation of large-scale parallel applications, parallel performance profiling, high-performance networking.
• Good communication skills and experience in maintenance of HPC systems, interacting with HPC users, assisting HPC research in an academic/research institute, upgradation of HPC hardware and software, AI/ML applications of HPC, managing hybrid CPU-GPU workloads.

Job Specification

• Support and maintenance of the CPU-GPU HPC cluster.
• Providing software and hardware support to all cluster users.
• Technical support for porting user applications to the HPC system, including modern hybrid CPU-GPU workloads for AI/ML applications.
• Conducting/coordinating training programs related to HPC systems/software for users.
• Proactively monitoring cluster health, and implementing (pre-emptive) infrastructure upgrades and regular software updates.
