Essential qualifications / experience
- A PhD in Mechanical / Aerospace / Civil / Materials / Chemical Engineering, Applied Mechanics or an allied area. Candidates who have submitted their PhD thesis are also eligible.
- Strong background in solid mechanics / continuum mechanics and experience with finite element analysis, demonstrated through doctoral research.
- Minimum 60% or equivalent grade from graduation onwards and 55% or equivalent grade in class 10th and 12th.
Desirable qualifications / experience
- Research experience with polymers or fibre-reinforced polymer composites, including constitutive modelling.
- Experience with commercial or in-house FE codes (e.g. Abaqus/ANSYS/COMSOL); user subroutines (UMAT/VUMAT) an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with thermal and mechanical characterisation (DSC, DMA) and/or strain sensing with Fibre Bragg Grating (FBG) sensors.
- Good communication skills and ability to plan and carry out simulations and experiments independently.
