IIT Tirupati Staff Recruitment 2026 – Overview

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Tirupati, an Institute of National Importance, invites online applications from eligible Indian citizens for the recruitment of 13 non-teaching staff posts on Direct Recruitment basis (Group A, B and C) as per Advertisement No. IITT/STAFFREC/01/2026 dated 31-08-2026. The posts include Superintending Engineer (Civil/Electrical), Senior Technical Officer, Assistant Registrar, Counsellor, Security Officer, Hindi Translator, Junior Technical Superintendent (CSE & Network Security) and Junior Technician (Chemical Engineering, Systems and CSE). Category-Wise Vacancy Distribution

The total of 13 vacancies under this advertisement is distributed among Unreserved (UR), Other Backward Classes – Non Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) categories as given in the table below:

Note: Group A includes 6 posts (5 UR + 1 OBC-NCL), Group B includes 4 posts (3 UR + 1 EWS) and Group C includes 3 posts (1 UR + 2 OBC-NCL, one of which is a backlog post). Horizontal reservations also apply: one post of Assistant Registrar is reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD); one of the Junior Technical Superintendent posts is horizontally reserved for PwBD; and one of the Junior Technician posts is horizontally reserved for Ex-Servicemen (ESM).

Pay Scale & Benefits

All posts carry regular pay scales under the 7th Central Pay Commission (7th CPC) Pay Matrix as indicated above. In addition to the basic pay, selected candidates will be entitled to Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance and other allowances as per the Government of India norms applicable at IIT Tirupati from time to time. Each post carries retirement or terminal benefits as per Government of India norms adopted by the Institute. Direct recruitment to all positions shall be made on probation for one year, which may be extended as per norms. The appointment of selected candidates is subject to medical fitness as per Institute norms.

Educational Qualification Summary

Age Limit & Relaxation

• Group A posts: Upper age limit 50 years for Superintending Engineer; 45 years for other Group A posts.
• Group B posts: Upper age limit 35 years.
• Group C posts: Upper age limit 27 years.
• For appointment of Superintending Engineer on deputation, the upper age limit is 56 years as on the closing date.
• Relaxation in age for SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates is admissible as per Government of India rules, only in respect of vacancies reserved for them.
• Relaxation in age for PwBD/Ex-Servicemen candidates is as per Government of India rules.
• Regular employees of the Institute may get age relaxation up to a maximum of 59 years; regular employees of other IITs up to 50 years for direct recruitment.
• Age will be calculated as on the closing date of online application i.e. 30-09-2026.

Application Fee

• SC/ST, Ex-Servicemen, Female, Transgender and PwBD candidates are exempted from the application fee, provided documentary proof is submitted while applying online.
• However, all candidates, irrespective of category or gender, shall be required to pay the Processing Fee separately for each post applied for.
• Fee is payable through the online portal only. Fees once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.

Selection Process

• Group A Posts: Screening Test / Interview or Both.
• Group B & C Posts: (i) Level-I: Objective Based Test, (ii) Level-II: Written Test (Descriptive), and (iii) Level-III: Skill Test / Trade Test.
• The Institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates to be called for the test/interview based on higher qualifications and experience, and to shortlist candidates based on the information provided in the online application.
• Candidates attending screening tests (written, trade or skill test) will not receive TA/DA. Candidates qualifying for the final level/interview will get reimbursement as per Institute norms.

How to Apply

1. Candidates are required to apply online only through the official portal: https://www.iittp.ac.in/recruitment.
2. A separate application has to be submitted for each post. Each eligible candidate should fill in only one application for one particular post.
3. Candidates must upload educational certificates and mark sheets (10th, 12th, ITI, Diploma, UG, PG, Ph.D.), Birth Certificate/High School certificate, valid Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD/ESM etc.), NOC from the current employer (if applicable), experience certificates, salary certificates and other required documents.
4. OBC-NCL and EWS certificates issued on or after 01-04-2026 will be considered valid.
5. After successful submission, a printout of the application form must be obtained and produced when called for test/interview/document verification. A hard copy is NOT to be sent to the Institute.
6. For the Superintending Engineer post on deputation basis, applicants must upload the 'Certificate by the Employer' (Annexure-I). APARs/ACRs of the last five years should reach the Registrar, IIT Tirupati through proper channel on or before 15-10-2026.

Documents to Upload

• Educational qualification certificates/mark sheets with consolidated mark sheet.
• Birth certificate or High School certificate indicating date of birth.
• Valid Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen), if applicable.
• NOC from the current employer (or undertaking), if applicable.
• Experience certificates in chronological order on the organization's letterhead with date of issue, designation, period, nature of duties and signature/seal of the competent authority.
• Salary certificates with clear breakup (Pay, DA, HRA and other allowances).
• One of the statutory documents (EPF Statement/UAN, ESI Records, Form-16, ITR, Bank Statement showing salary credits) to substantiate work experience.
• Certificate of proficiency, wherever required for desirable qualifications.
• Recent passport size photograph and signature.

Important Points

• The candidate must be a citizen of India.
• All educational qualifications must be from a recognized Board/University/Institute.
• Only relevant experience gained after obtaining the minimum qualifying educational qualification will be considered.
• The crucial date for determining eligibility in every respect is the closing date of the online application, i.e., 30-09-2026.
