IIT Ropar Senior Project Assistant Recruitment 2026

Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the Senior Project Assistant position under the supervision of Dr. Aditya Singh Rajput, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Ropar. The position is purely temporary and is initially for a period of one year, extendable subject to satisfactory performance and project requirements. The salary will be paid in consolidated terms with no provision for HRA or campus accommodation. Last date for receipt of application: 31 August 2026.

Position Details

Eligibility Criteria

• Master Degree in Structural Engineering or an allied branch, with a minimum of two years of relevant field experience; OR
• Bachelor Degree (Undergraduate) in Civil Engineering or an allied branch, with a minimum of four years of relevant field experience; OR
• Diploma in Civil Engineering or an allied branch, with a minimum of six years of field relevant experience.

Desirable Qualifications

• Practical experience in civil engineering construction sites, field/site engineering, quality assurance, or structural engineering consultancy.
• Experience in Third-Party Quality Assurance (TPQA), structural audit/condition assessment, quantity audit, compliance audit, or similar consultancy assignments.
• Experience in structural evaluation, assessment, repair and rehabilitation, and/or retrofitting of existing structures.
• Sound understanding of construction materials, material testing, non-destructive testing (NDT), engineering calculations, and interpretation of field/test data.
• Ability to prepare technical reports, inspection reports, audit reports, project documentation, and client correspondence.
• Experience in coordinating multidisciplinary project teams and managing field investigations and site activities.
• Experience of working on consultancy/research projects with IITs, NITs, CFTIs, government departments, or reputed engineering organizations.

Nature of Work

The selected candidate will be involved in multiple consultancy and field projects and will be expected to undertake technical, coordination, documentation, and administrative responsibilities as assigned, including TPQA, structural audits, condition assessments, retrofitting-related activities, field investigations, client coordination, team coordination, report preparation, and project follow-up. Selected candidates may be required to travel and stay at project/field sites as per project requirements.
