IIT Ropar JRF Recruitment 2026 - AR&DB Sponsored Project

Applications are invited from Indian nationals to work as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a research project funded by Aeronautics Research & Development Board (ARDB), Government of India at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Ropar. Last date of application: 30 August 2026.

Project Objectives

  • To investigate the effect of graphene modification on micro level fatigue behavior of GFRPs and CFRPs.
  • To investigate and compare the fatigue performance of conventional and graphene modified CFRPs and GFRPs.
  • To examine the influence of weathering conditions on fatigue performance of hybrid CFRPs and GFRPs.

Essential Qualifications

  • B.Tech in Mechanical and M.Tech in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering/Applied Mechanics from a recognized institute with at least 60% marks or 6.0 CGPA out of 10 in Master with GATE score; OR
  • Exceptional candidates having B.Tech/B.E degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering with at least 60% marks or 6.0 CGPA out of 10 and valid GATE score.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Candidates having basic knowledge of MATLAB/Fortran/Abaqus will be given preference.

General Terms and Conditions

  • The position is temporary, renewed every year subject to satisfactory performance.
  • Candidate selected can apply for the regular PhD program provided he/she qualifies the eligibility criterion for PhD program at IIT Ropar.
  • Original documents must be presented at the time of interview.
