The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (IIT Jammu), an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, invites applications from outstanding and energetic individuals for faculty positions at various levels. We seek candidates with a strong passion for teaching, cutting-edge research, and innovation, across a wide spectrum of disciplines.

Positions Available

• Professor – Academic Pay Level 14A (₹1,59,100 – ₹2,20,200)
• Associate Professor – Academic Pay Level 13A2 (₹1,39,600 – ₹2,11,300)
• Assistant Professor (Grade I) – Academic Pay Level 12 (₹1,01,500 – ₹1,67,400)
• Assistant Professor (Grade II) – Academic Pay Level 10/11 (₹70,900 onwards)
• Visiting Professor (Contract/Deputation)
• Retired Professors (on Contract, from CFTIs)

Allowances and benefits will be as per 7th CPC and Central Government rules.

Eligibility & Experience

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline with consistently good academic record.
• Professor – Minimum 10 years’ teaching/research/industry experience (at least 4 years as Associate Professor). Demonstrated leadership in research, Ph.D. supervision, publications, patents, projects.
• Associate Professor – Minimum 6 years’ experience (at least 3 years as Assistant Professor). Evidence of independent research, M.Tech./Ph.D. guidance, strong publications.
• Assistant Professor (Grade I) – Minimum 3 years’ post-Ph.D. experience in teaching/research/industry. Applicants preferably below 35 years of age.
• Assistant Professor (Grade II) – Fresh Ph.D. holders (or with post-doctoral experience) who meet all criteria except post-Ph.D. experience.
• Visiting/Retired Professors – Distinguished professionals from CFTIs with proven records in teaching, research, and mentorship.

Faculty Support & Benefits

• Start-up Research Grant: Up to ₹30,00,000 (with an additional ₹30,00,000 as matching grant for special projects).
• Professional Development Allowance: ₹3,00,000 per block of 3 years for conferences, memberships, and publications.
• Medical Facilities: On-campus dispensary & empaneled hospitals (with reimbursement).
• Leave Travel Concession (LTC): As per Government of India rules.
• Relocation Allowance: For candidates joining from India or abroad.

• Exceptional candidates may be considered with relaxed experience requirements.
• Shortlisting and selection will be based on multi-stage evaluation (research presentation, teaching assessment, interview).
• Travel reimbursement for shortlisted candidates (AC 2-Tier train fare/economy airfare within India).
