The Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad invites applications for one Research Assistant position under an ICSSR-sponsored research project. The selected candidate will support interdisciplinary research involving Indian philosophy, Sanskrit texts and comparative family studies.

Key Responsibilities

The selected Research Assistant will:

• Conduct literature reviews on Sanskrit and Indian philosophical texts.

• Collect and analyse primary and secondary research material.

• Assist with the translation and interpretation of classical texts.

• Maintain research databases and project records.

• Prepare reports, academic manuscripts and documentation.

• Support the organisation of workshops and academic events.

• Assist with other research activities connected with the project.

Essential Qualification

Applicants should possess:

• A postgraduate degree in a Social Science discipline.

• A minimum of 55% marks.

• NET, M.Phil. or PhD qualification.

Desirable Qualification

Preference may be given to candidates with:

• Academic knowledge of Indian philosophy or Sanskrit.

• Background in religious studies, social sciences or related disciplines.

• Strong academic writing and research skills.

• Experience handling interdisciplinary research material.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit is 37 years. Applicable relaxation may be provided according to the relevant rules.

Fellowship

The selected candidate will receive a fellowship of INR 37,000 per month.
