About the Project
The Project Scientist will work on one or more projects in labour economics and public policy, handling large-scale datasets such as online job postings and official surveys to investigate technology-driven shifts in labour demand, skills and worker-firm matching across local labour markets. The position is suited to candidates considering graduate studies in Economics or Public Policy and seeking hands-on experience in applied research.

Eligibility Criteria
- Essential: Masters degree in Economics with First Division / Merit.
- Required skills and experience: Proficiency in Stata, Python and LaTeX (Overleaf) for data analysis and academic writing; experience working with large-scale online job postings data and managing administrative datasets; strong interest in labour economics with experience applying causal inference methods for econometric analysis; six months of research experience as an intern, research assistant or scientist; excellent analytical, quantitative and communication skills.
- 5% relaxation of marks may be granted to SC / ST candidates.
- In case of selection of a retired or superannuated government employee, salary will be fixed as per prevailing IRD norms.
Key Responsibilities
- Data cleaning and econometric analyses in Stata.
- Implementing data extraction pipelines using natural language processing methods in Python.
- Producing tables, figures and visualizations using LaTeX.
- Conducting literature reviews and supporting preparation of presentations and dissemination material.
