IIT Delhi Consultant (Legal Cell) Recruitment 2026
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi intends to conduct a shortlisting-based interview to engage the services of 01 Consultant for the Legal Cell. The engagement will be purely on contract basis initially for a period of 01 year, extendable up to a maximum period of 03 years or up to the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier, as per Advt. No. E-II/26/2026(W) dated August 20, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria
Consultant (Type-I)
- Retired from GOI service after superannuation and drawing pension as per CCS Pension Rules/Similar Rules
- LLB degree from a recognized University/Institution
- Minimum 10 years experience in dealing with legal matters
Remuneration: As per prescribed guidelines (Ministry of Finance, Dept. of Expenditure OM F.No.3-25/2020-E.IIIA dated 09.12.2020)
Consultant (Type-II)
- Retired from GOI service but not drawing pension under CCS Pension Rules, or personnel from PSU
- LLB degree from a recognized University/Institution
- Minimum 10 years experience in dealing with legal matters
Remuneration: Consolidated amount between Rs. 35,000-50,000/-
Roles and Responsibilities
- Scrutiny of petitions, vetting of counter affidavits, pleadings, regulations, agreements, reports, MoU etc.
- Analyzing feasibility and methodology of implementation of court verdicts and orders
- Advice and opinion on legal and administrative issues
- Monitoring of litigation of the Institute pending pan-India before various courts, tribunals and commissions
- Drafting of speaking/reasoned orders, agreements, reports, replies, orders, OM and other public notices
- Provide opinions to the various departments of the institute
