Tech. / ME / MS / BS-MS in Climate Science / Atmospheric Science / Meteorology / Physics / Water Resources / Environmental Science / Engineering or equivalent with minimum CGPA 6.5 + valid GATE / NET; OR B. Tech. / BE with minimum CGPA 6.5 + valid GATE / NET. GATE / NET exempted for BS-MS / B. Tech / M. Tech with minimum CGPA 8.0 from IITs / IISc / IISERs.
- Desirable: Experience in WRF ARW model, climate simulations, FORTRAN, Python / R / NCL data visualization; gridded meteorology data; publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
- Age: Preferably below 35 years (SC / ST / OBC / PD relaxation as per GOI rules).

JRF Recruitment 2026 – MoE-STARS Project on Climate Change & Hydroclimate
Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Thiruvananthapuram, a premier science education and research institute established by the Government of India under the Ministry of Education, invites applications for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) on a contract basis under an externally funded MoE-STARS project.

Minimum Educational Qualification
- M. Tech. / ME / MS / BS-MS in Climate Science / Atmospheric Science / Meteorology / Physics / Water Resources / Environmental Science / Engineering or equivalent degree with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 with a valid qualified GATE / NET score; OR
- B. Tech. / BE degree with a minimum CGPA of 6.5 and a valid qualified GATE / NET score.
- Note: GATE / NET score shall be exempted for candidates having BS-MS / B. Tech / M. Tech. degree with minimum CGPA 8.0 from IITs / IISc / IISERs.
Desirable Qualifications
- Working experience in WRF ARW model, climate simulations, model evaluations and proficiency in FORTRAN programming; data visualization in Python / R / NCL.
- Working experience in gridded meteorology data.
- Publications in international peer-reviewed journals.

Preferably below 35 years. According to the GOI rules, SC / ST / OBC / PD relaxations will be provided as per rules.
