Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune, an Institute of National Importance, invites Indian nationals fulfilling the advertised criteria to attend walk-in interviews for the following positions. The posts are under multiple projects of IISER Pune CONECTS, funded by a private agency. Advertisement No. 84/2026 dated 26.10.2026. The appointment is purely temporary and on a contractual basis.

Post 1 – Senior Technical Officer (01 post)
Minimum educational qualification: Master’s degree in Mathematics / Physics / Science Education / Engineering or related areas.
Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience of working on teacher capacity building / teacher training / student capacity building programmes / student training programmes.
Preference:
- Knowledge of the science education sector in India.
- Developing and conducting workshops for teachers, students and early career researchers in the field of education.
- Expertise in curriculum development for skill enhancement and pedagogical interventions.
- Demonstrated work experience in managing and running programmes of teacher educator development.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Fluency in Marathi, Hindi and English.
Post 2 – Technical Officer (01 post)
Minimum educational qualification: Master’s degree in Chemistry / Biology / Science Education or allied science subjects.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in the field of education / teaching and / or pedagogy.
Preference:
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree.
- Experience in training school / college teachers and students in pedagogy and science and/or mathematics education.
- Experience in collaborating with state education agencies and other key stakeholders.
- Teaching experience with hands-on demonstrations and working with tinkering labs.
- Expertise in making educational videos and handling different types of media.
- Proficiency in Hindi, Marathi or any other regional language in addition to English, with good command over oral and written communication.
Post 3 – Junior Office Assistant (Multi-skilled) (01 post)
Minimum educational qualification: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum 50% marks from a reputed university / college / institute.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as mentioned under job requirements.
Preference:
- Experience in day-to-day office work and financial transactions.
- Well versed in IT skills, MS Office, Tally, and capable of working on in-house accounting software.
- Knowledge of administration and/or purchase matters in Government organisations/institutes and managing official correspondence.
- Knowledge of PFMS (Public Financial Management System) and Government e-Procurement systems.
- Good written and oral communication in English, Hindi and Marathi.
- Initiative and effective interpersonal communication.

General Information
- The appointment is purely temporary and will terminate automatically, without any notice or compensation, on termination of the project.
- The appointed person shall have no claim of appointment or absorption in the funding agency or in IISER Pune.
- The appointment will be governed by the terms and conditions of the funding agency applicable to the project.
- The prescribed date for determining the upper age limit, educational qualifications or experience shall be the date of the walk-in interview.
- The prescribed educational qualifications and/or experience are the bare minimum; where a large number of candidates appear, the number called for interview may be restricted to a reasonable limit based on the Screening Committee’s recommendations.
- Number of posts may vary depending upon the requirements during the selection process.
- Age relaxation commensurate with qualification and/or experience may be considered with the prior approval of the competent authority.
- The experience requirement may be relaxed based on the cohort of applications received, with prior approval.
- In case a selected candidate does not join or resigns, waitlisted candidates may be offered the position.
- No TA/DA will be admissible for appearing in the interview.
- No interim enquiries or correspondence will be entertained.
- Bringing any influence, political or otherwise, will be treated as a disqualification.
