IISc Project Engineer – "Control Of and Control Over Wireless Networks" (ECE Dept)

The Department of Electrical Communication Engineering (ECE) and the Robert Bosch Centre for Cyber Physical Systems, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru invite applications for Project Engineer (Project Staff) positions under the project titled "Control Of and Control Over Wireless Networks".

Project Overview

Research and development of mechanisms for Quality of Service (QoS) in dense wireless networks, particularly for industrial automation and smart factory deployments. The project focuses on centralized control and coordination over Wi-Fi to reliably control delay-sensitive applications such as swarms of mobile robots and uplink cameras in real time. Immediate tasks include designing scalable MAC scheduling frameworks with QoS guarantees across heterogeneous Wi-Fi deployments and algorithms for network-aware control.

Eligibility

• Graduate or post-graduate degree in ECE (Electrical Communication Engineering / Electrical and Computer Engineering) or Computer Science.
• Preference given to candidates with knowledge of wireless communications & networking concepts/protocols/standards, analytical understanding of algorithms, exposure to machine learning/reinforcement learning, and ability to read research articles.
• Experience in MATLAB with familiarity in C/C++/Python.
• Working knowledge of Linux OS and networking software.
