IIPS Mumbai Research Officer Recruitment 2026 (Suicide Deaths Research Project)

The International Institute of Population Sciences (IIPS), Mumbai has invited applications for one ad-hoc Research Officer on the project "Demographic and Social Perspective of Suicide Deaths in India". The last date to apply is 25 October 2026.

Position

• Post: Research Officer – 01 (one), ad-hoc and Mumbai-based
• Duration: Three months, likely to be extended till the tenure of the project
• Salary: Rs. 30,000 – 60,000/- per month (consolidated)

Essential qualifications

• A postgraduate degree of NCrF level 7.0 from a recognised university.
• An undergraduate degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or Engineering of NCrF level 5.5 from a recognised university.

Desirable qualifications and experience

• Working knowledge of coding and programming in R, Python, SQL, STATA, SPSS or QGIS.
• Fluency in speaking and writing the English language.

Specific tasks

• Data curation, data compilation, data management and web scraping.
• Contributing to writing codes and programming for analytical outcomes.
• Extraction of district-level data from government sources and large and small-scale surveys.
• Contributing to project activities such as systematic review and meta-analysis.
• Project report writing and drafting of journal articles.
• Assisting the principal and co-coordinator(s) in administrative work related to the project.
