Eligibility
- Essential: BE/B.Tech or M.Sc. in Mathematics or Computer Science from a recognised university/institution.
- Desirable: M.Tech/MS/MCA or higher in Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Data Science or a closely related discipline.
- Essential experience: minimum one year in applied/quantitative research, analytics, mathematical modelling or software development; fresh candidates with good bachelor projects may be considered.
- Desirable experience: a research laboratory, Centre of Excellence or sponsored research/consultancy project in an academic or research institution.
Skills required
- Strong mathematical and statistical modelling, including mathematical optimization.
- Programming in C++ and Python with scientific/analytical libraries and version control.
- Machine learning and deep learning methods; cloud computing and graph analytics preferred.
- Ability to work in inter-disciplinary applied research such as healthcare, natural resources and cyber-physical systems.
- Technical documentation, project reports and publishable presentations.
- English communication; Telugu and Hindi an added advantage.
Job description
- Support the Lab's academic research, consultancy, product development and training assignments.
- Collect, curate and prepare datasets; develop, test and validate mathematical/statistical/analytical models.
- Assist in research proposals, project reports, deliverables and technical documentation for sponsoring agencies.
- Maintain the IDeAL website, code repositories and project records, with a complete handover at the end of engagement.
- Coordinate with Head-IDeAL, project teams, sponsoring agencies, industry partners and student assistants.
- Contribute to training programmes, workshops and outreach; report to the Head, IDeAL.
Selection and terms
- Selection may include a written/technical test, personal interview and/or other assessments, online or physical.
- Age and experience are reckoned as on the closing date; age relaxation as per Government of India rules, and the Institute may consider relaxation in deserving cases.
- Place of posting: Main campus, Gambheeram village, Anandapuram Mandal, Visakhapatnam; working hours 09:00 AM–5:30 PM Monday to Friday.
- Selected candidates must join within 30 days of the offer; intellectual property, data, code and documentation vest with the Institute.
