Opening for Research Assistant Positions – IIM Ahmedabad

The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad is inviting applications for the position of Research Assistant under the guidance of Prof. Amit Karna and Prof. Sunil Sharma (Strategy Area).

Work Description

The Research Assistants will support an ongoing project and will be involved in:

• Designing survey instruments and empirical strategy
• Conducting surveys, interviews, and data collection activities
• Cleaning and analysing datasets using relevant analytical tools
• Preparing detailed reports with data visualizations and high-quality formatting
• Coordinating meetings and managing interactions with external industry experts

Qualifications

Applicants must hold at least a bachelor’s degree with strong skills in:

• Online data collection
• Excel, Word, PowerPoint/Canva, Figma
• Basic data analysis and visualization

Candidates with a master’s degree will be preferred.

Prior Knowledge Requirements

Candidates should possess:

• Ability to learn new programming languages and applications
• Experience handling datasets related to entrepreneurs and companies
• Understanding of econometrics, simulation, and data analysis
• Strong communication skills

Letters of recommendation are welcome but not mandatory.

Tenure

The initial appointment is for six months, extendable based on performance and project requirements.

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will be evaluated based on the skills required for the role, followed by online interviews conducted over Zoom.

Compensation

Up to INR 50,000 per month, depending on qualifications and experience.

Ahmedabad.
