Eligibility

• Essential: Ph.D. in the relevant discipline, with first class in the preceding degrees (graduation onwards). Relevant experience: three years after Ph.D. OR six years total (not counting Ph.D. enrolment period) after obtaining M.Tech. degree.
• Minimum research output: 02 papers in SCI journals outside Ph.D. work. One ongoing sponsored project for candidates from academia.
• Additional desirable: One Ph.D. supervision ongoing; 01 patent; industry/R&D lab experience; M.Tech/M.Sc/B.Tech project supervision on live industrial problems.
• At least one degree from graduation onward should be from IISc/IITs/IIITs/NITs/IIMs/ISI/IISERs (or regular pay scale there); foreign degrees considered if from a National University/Institute or QS/THE World Ranking up to 500.
• Age: Fresh appointments beyond 35 years for Assistant Professor are discouraged, except for exceptionally brilliant research careers with ongoing/approved externally funded projects.

Pay & Terms

• Pay Level 12: Rs.1,01,500 - 1,67,400 plus applicable allowances (DA, HRA etc.), medical reimbursement, LTC as per Institute rules; NPS applicable to fresh recruits.
• Probation: TWO years. Selection in two phases: presentation on teaching & research in the specialization, then interview by the Selection Committee.
• Presentation/interview at the candidate's own cost; no TA/DA. Candidates from overseas are encouraged to apply; web interviews are held for such candidates.
• Inbreeding prohibited for three years (applicant must not have been awarded the Ph.D. from ABV-IIITM Gwalior within three years of the last submission date).
