IIIT Bhagalpur Salary / Pay Scale 2026
Monthly remuneration is arrived at by deducting the basic pension from the pay drawn at the time of retirement. There is no annual increment, percentage increase or dearness allowance during the contract period, and the remuneration stays constant for the tenure unless revised by the competent authority. No allowances are admissible, including residential accommodation; transport allowance is fixed as applicable. Leave is 8 days per calendar year on a pro-rata basis, with no carry-forward and no encashment.

IIIT Bhagalpur Eligibility Criteria 2026
- Applicant must be a retired official of the Central Government, a State Government, a UT Administration, a State Electricity Institute, a Public Sector Undertaking, a statutory organisation or autonomous body, a university or a recognised research institution, with considerable experience in the relevant field.
- Maximum age limit is 62 years as on the closing date of application (20.11.2026) for all categories.
- For Executive Engineer (Civil): must have retired from the post of Executive Engineer (Civil) in the regular grade, or an equivalent or higher post.
- For Assistant Engineer (Civil): must have retired from the post of Assistant Engineer (Civil) in the regular grade, or an equivalent or higher post.
- Copy of the superannuation order / Pension Payment Order (PPO) is required with the application.
- The selected officer may not take up any other assignment, consultancy or employment during the tenure without prior written approval of the competent authority.

Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Bhagalpur has invited applications from eligible and willing retired Government officials of Central Government, State Governments, UT Administrations, State Electricity Institutes, Public Sector Undertakings, statutory organisations or autonomous bodies, universities and recognised research institutions for engagement on contract basis to two civil engineering posts. Advertisement No. IIITBH/ADVT/2026/20 dated 30.10.2026.
- Executive Engineer (Civil) - 01 post - BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering; must have retired as Executive Engineer (Civil) in the regular grade, or from an equivalent or higher post.
- Assistant Engineer (Civil) - 01 post - Diploma/BE/B.Tech in Civil Engineering; must have retired as Assistant Engineer (Civil) in the regular grade, or from an equivalent or higher post.
Place of posting is Bhagalpur. The engagement is initially for one year and may be extended year to year depending on requirement, satisfactory performance and administrative exigencies. Working hours are 09:00 AM to 05:30 PM with biometric attendance. The engagement is purely temporary and contractual, does not constitute employment in the Institute and shall not be treated as re-employment or create any claim to regularisation. The number of vacancies is tentative and may be varied or the process withdrawn at the Institute's discretion.
Selection will be on the recommendation of an Experts Committee; shortlisted candidates may be called for a personal interaction or presentation.
