Governor’s Secretariat, Lok Bhavan, Raipur (Chhattisgarh), invites applications for appointment to the post of Vice-Chancellor, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur (C.G.), under the Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya Adhiniyam, 1987 and subsequent modification. Notice Advt. No. F 1-5/2026/RS/U-2 dated 29.09.2026.

Role and eligibility
The Vice-Chancellor is the academic as well as administrative head and is expected to be:
- A visionary with proven leadership qualities, administrative capabilities as well as teaching and research credentials.
- A distinguished academician in the field of Agriculture and allied subjects, with a minimum of ten years of experience as Professor in a University or ten years of experience in an equivalent position from a reputed research and/or academic administrative organization.
Tenure
The maximum tenure for the post of Vice-Chancellor is five (5) years, or up to the age of sixty-five (65) years, whichever is earlier.

Aspirants may send their applications along with documents in three sets:
- Application in the prescribed format, with a recent passport size colour photograph.
- All pages of the filled application must be signed.
- Attach self-attested copies of certificates/relevant documents in support of experience as per the eligibility criteria and educational qualifications.
Applications are to be sent to the Deputy Secretary to Governor, Lok Bhavan, Raipur (C.G.) 492001, so as to be received on or before 29th October 2026, by Registered Post/Speed Post only. The envelope should be superscribed ‘APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF VICE-CHANCELLOR, INDIRA GANDHI KRISHI VISHWAVIDYALAYA, RAIPUR (C.G.)’.
Applications received after the prescribed date, either by postal delay or for any other reason, will not be considered at this Secretariat. It is necessary to apply in the prescribed format.
Notarised affidavit
The applicant has to compulsorily submit a Notarised Affidavit certifying all statements and particulars furnished in the application. Applications without a Notarised Affidavit shall be rejected. The affidavit must include the declarations that (i) all statements/particulars furnished are true, complete and correct to the best of the applicant’s knowledge and belief; (ii) in the event of any information being found false or incorrect at any stage, the application/candidature is liable to be summarily rejected; and (iii) if already appointed, services are liable to be terminated without notice from the post of Vice-Chancellor as per the Act/Statute and other applicable rules/laws.
