IGIMS Patna – Senior Resident (ENT), 3 Posts, 89-Day Senior Residency

Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS), Patna, Department of ENT, invites eligible Indian citizens for a walk-in interview for appointment to the post of Senior Resident on an ad-hoc basis under the 89 days Senior Residency Programme. Advertisement No. 02/ENT/2026 dated 27/10/2026.

Essential Qualification and Experience

• A Medical qualification as included in Schedule I & II of the NMC Act.
• NMC recognised P.G. qualification of MS (ENT).
• The candidate must be registered with the Central / State Medical Council.

Scheme of Marking (Total 100 Marks)

Minimum Qualifying Criteria for Ad-hoc Appointment

• UR – 50 percentile
• BC / EBC / EWS – 45 percentile
• SC / ST – 40 percentile

Application Fee

• Rs. 1000/- (Rupees One Thousand only) for UR / EWS / BC candidates.
• Rs. 250/- (Rupees Two Hundred & Fifty only) for SC / ST / EBC candidates.
• Non-refundable, payable to The Director, IGIMS, Patna, in the form of a Demand Draft.

General Instructions

• Reservation: reservation points and relaxation in the upper age limit are applicable as per the rule of Government of Bihar. Reservation benefit is applicable to Bihar State domicile candidates only, and an applicant from outside the State of Bihar will not be entitled to reservation. Physically handicapped candidates will be given the benefit of reservation and relaxation as per the rule of Government of Bihar.
• Candidates employed in a Government / Semi-Government department or any other employer must submit a “No Objection Certificate” issued by the employer at the time of interview/document verification; otherwise they will not be considered for interview. Candidates not in employment must submit in writing that they are neither employed in any organisation nor doing any course anywhere.
• The number of vacancies in the department may increase or decrease. In case of unavailability of an eligible female candidate (where applicable), a male candidate for the respective department may be considered.
• The post is non-practising; private practice of any kind, direct or indirect, including laboratory, is strictly prohibited. If found indulging in such private practice, the appointment shall be terminated.
• Selected candidates have to submit a LEGAL BOND that they will deposit an amount equivalent to one month’s emoluments for every year of the Senior Residency programme not completed, on quitting/resigning mid-way.
• Stay in campus is compulsory if accommodation is provided; if not provided, HRA is admissible as per rule.
• The qualification prescribed is the minimum requirement and does not automatically make the candidate eligible for interview. Based on bio-data and interview, the Selection Committee of the Institute will select the candidate(s).
• The Director of the Institute reserves the right to reject/accept any or all applications without assigning any reason and to cancel the advertisement.
• Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
• No TA/DA is admissible for attending the interview and joining the post if selected.
• Selection by the Selection Committee does not give a right of appointment; the Institute reserves the right of appointment of the candidate(s) recommended by the Selection Committee.
• Candidates must bring the application form in the prescribed proforma with the requisite fee and copies of all supportive certificates/documents, including all original certificates/documents, as proof of age, qualification(s), registration and caste. Original certificates must be presented on the day of interview.
