ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute (ICAR-IVRI), Izatnagar invites applications for 1 Senior Research Fellow (SRF) post in the Animal Nutrition Division under the ICAR-ILRI project "Assessment of Spatio-Temporal Variation in Enteric Methane Emissions and Development of Primary Data Based Inventory". The post is purely temporary/contractual and co-terminus with the project.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification (Essential)

• Post-graduation (PG) degree in Animal Nutrition, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or allied sciences along with NET (ICAR/CSIR/UGC/ICMR), OR
• Doctoral (Ph.D.) degree in Animal Nutrition, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or allied sciences.

Desirable Qualification

• Experience in Nutrition research, especially the SF6 tracer technique for methane measurement.
• Experience in Molecular Biology and Microbiological techniques.

Age Limit

• Up to 35 years (male) and up to 40 years (female).
• Age relaxation applicable for ST/SC/OBC/Female candidates as per government rules.

Emoluments

• Rs. 37,000 per month for the 1st and 2nd year of the project.
• Rs. 42,000 per month during the 3rd year.
• HRA as per ICAR rules.

Selection Process

• No written examination.
• Step 1 – Shortlisting: Applications and CVs reviewed against eligibility criteria.
• Step 2 – Online Interview: Shortlisted candidates informed by email and called for online interview. No TA/DA will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze data on enteric methane emissions from livestock using the SF6 tracer technique.
• Support fieldwork for the spatio-temporal variation assessment across project sites.
• Maintain accurate research records and laboratory documentation.
• Assist in developing the primary data-based methane emissions inventory.
• Coordinate with the Principal Investigator and project team on research progress.
• Prepare periodic progress reports for the ICAR-ILRI project.
