Division of Fruits & Horticultural Technology, ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI), New Delhi will hold a walk-in interview on 28th September, 2026 for recruitment under the DBT sponsored project "Genetic dissection for fruit size, quality and bacterial blight resistance in pomegranate through genome-wide association mapping".

Educational Qualifications

JRF/SRF (Essential): Master's degree in Horticulture/Fruit Science/Genetics/Plant Breeding/Genetics and Plant Breeding/Plant Molecular Biology and Biotechnology/Life Sciences with 4/5 years bachelor's degree. Candidate must have a postgraduate degree in Basic Sciences with a 3-year bachelor's degree and must have UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET, GATE qualification or equivalent, or a Ph.D. in any of the above disciplines (as per ICAR memorandum F. No. Agri. Edn./6/27/2014/HRD dated 13.07.2015 and 09.10.2015).

Desirable: Experience in molecular markers, marker assisted breeding, phenotyping of fruit crops, biochemical analysis, and data compilation/analysis using MS Excel, R and other software.

Field Assistant (Essential): B.Sc./3-year diploma in Engineering and Technology or Graduate degree in any discipline (as per DST OM No. SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated 21.08.2019). Desirable: Ability to take and record fruit data, carry out fruit analysis including biochemical analysis, and well-versed with MS Excel.

Age Limit

JRF/SRF: Maximum 35 years for men and 40 years for women. Field Assistant: Maximum 50 years. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per Govt. of India/ICAR rules.

Tenure

Posts are purely temporary, contractual for an initial period of one year or project duration, whichever is earlier, extendable on yearly basis subject to satisfactory performance.

Interview Details

Candidates for JRF/SRF should report by 9:30 AM on 28th September, 2026 for verification of certificates at Division of Fruits & Horticultural Technology, IARI, Pusa Campus, New Delhi. Candidates reporting after 10:30 AM will not be considered. Interview for Field Assistant posts will follow the JRF/SRF interview on the same day.
