- Essential: Masters' degree in Food Science / Food Science and Technology / Food Technology / Biochemistry.
- Desirable: Candidate must have hands-on experience on laboratory techniques, food product development and basic computer skills.
- Age limit: maximum 35 years. Age relaxation of five years for SC/ST and women candidates and three years for OBC candidates.
- Tenure: purely temporary, non-regular, time-bound and co-terminus with the project; the selected candidate shall not claim regular appointment at the Institute.
